Choose packaging for the contents
Use a sound outer container suitable for the item’s weight. Protect each fragile piece and stop contents moving inside the box. Avoid relying on a retail display box as transport packaging without checking its suitability.
Measure after packing
Measure the longest outside length, width and height, including bulges, handles or protrusions. Weigh the complete parcel with its packaging. Enter centimetres and kilograms in the form, with a separate line for each differently sized item.
Label and prepare the handover
Use the recipient details agreed for the booking, remove confusing old delivery labels and keep the collection reference available. Tell the driver which pieces belong together. Packing support is not automatically included.
